Falafels

Product used:
Peas 500g
  • 1 cup McCain peas, cooked as per packet instructions
  • 1 cup canned chickpeas
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/3 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/2 Tbs. ground cumin
  • 2 Tbs. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • pepper and chilli flakes to taste
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 lemon for garnish

Method

1.In a blender, combine all ingredients (except oil and lemon) and blend until well mixed. Form 6-8 patties and let rest for 30 minutes. Heat oil in a fry pan and cook patties until golden brown on both sides. Serve with a slice of lemon to squeeze on top.
